2:00 P.M. - ????

We'll end our kayak season with another Paddle & Pig Luau at the Elm Hill/Safe Harbor Public Use Area on Percy Priest Lake.  NOTE:  This is a location change from previous years, and there is a $8 per vehicle parking fee.  Activities will begin around 2:00 p.m. and will last long after dark.  We'll paddle our kayaks out to Luau Island & enjoy the beautiful day with a refreshing swim (weather permitting) then paddle back to Elm Hill for a delicious dinner ~ everyone please bring food to share, just like we always do for Paddle & Pig.  If it's a little chilly when the sun goes down, we'll have our fire pit roaring, so we can warm up as we visit with each other.  We'll also have our Tiki Torches burning, which always adds to the "Luau mood"!!!   We look forward to starting up again in Spring 2019 (the official start date will be posted as the time gets closer, but it'll probably be sometime in mid-May), and we invite anyone who's interested in kayaking to join us then...

SUNDAY, June 17th - FRIDAY, June 22nd , 2018

We'll be going on our annual Current River trip on Sunday, June 17th ~ paddling Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, and returning home on Friday, June 22nd.  We'll be paddling the upper portions of the Current River again this trip, although the routes for each day are yet to be determined. Most of us will be staying at Shady Lanes Cabins in Eminence, Missouri (573-226-3893 ~ this is a very nice place, and their rates are reasonable). Others will be staying in cabins at The River's Edge or camping across the river at the Circle B campground (links to these businesses are listed below, and also on our River Info page). The following photos are from some of our previous Current River trips.

NOTE: If you're not on our e-mail list, please go to our "Contact Us" page and use the link to send us your e-mail address, so you'll be added to our list.

DIRECTIONS: Take I-40 E to exit 219 (Stewarts Ferry/Bell Road).  Follow Bell Road to Hamilton Creek (approximately 4 miles).  The entrance is on the left, not far after you pass the stop light at Woodland Point.  After turning left into Hamilton Creek, you will take the next left (at the gate).

CAUTION:  The speed limit in Hamilton Creek is 20 mph, and it IS enforced!

WHAT TO BRING:  Bring something to eat and share ~ we don't care what.  Anything from chips to chicken to pasta to fruit to brownies ~ we eat pretty much anything!!!  It's also a good idea to bring a camp chair, your beverage of choice, AND your kayak, of course!!!  If you get there a little late, just put in and start paddling ~ you'll find other kayakers out there.  We usually paddle towards the dam (left) after we get out of the marina cove.  Everyone is welcome ~ we hope to see you there!

Upcoming 2018 Kayak Adventures

  SUNDAYS @ 2:00 p.m.

May 20, 2018 - October 7, 2018

Due to low attendance over the past couple of years and increased weekday traffic, Paddle & Pig has been permanently moved to Sunday afternoons.  We can't commit to meeting EVERY Sunday of the season, but Carol will send out an e-mail every week, letting attendees know if it's a GO or NOGO for the following Sunday.  On "GO" weeks, we will be meeting Sunday afternoon (weather permitting), around 2:00, and paddling off around 3:00 p.m., continuing through mid-September, at Hamilton Creek Sail Boat Marina on Percy Priest Lake (weather permitting).
